Salvation begins with believing in Christ not in your own works
You Have Placed Your Faith in Jesus Christ Alone Salvation begins with believing in Christ not in your own works. • Romans 10:9 (NKJV) “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” If you trust Christ alone for forgiveness, you have the foundation of true salvation. 2. You Have Repented and Turned Away From Your Old Life True salvation includes repentance a real change of direction. • Acts 3:19 (NKJV) “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” Repentance is not perfection, but a change of heart and lifestyle. 3. You Experience the Witness of the Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit gives inner assurance and peace. • Romans 8:16 (NKJV) “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.” If the Holy Spirit convicts you, guides you, and draws you closer to Christ — that is a powerful sign of true salvation. 4. Your Desires Begin to Change Salvation produces transformation. You begin to desire what pleases God and reject what hurts Him. • 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” A saved heart grows in: • love for God • desire for Scripture • desire to do what is right Even if you still struggle, your direction has changed. 5. You Produce Evidence (“Fruit”) of a Changed Life Jesus said salvation shows itself through fruit not perfect fruit, but real fruit. • Matthew 7:17–18 (NKJV) “A good tree bears good fruit.” The fruit of salvation includes: • love • forgiveness • obedience • humility • kindness • repentance when you sin • desire to follow Christ 6. You Persevere in Faith True salvation continues. A saved person does not abandon Christ or live in ongoing rebellion. • John 15:6 (NKJV) Jesus warns that those who do not “abide” in Him are cast out. But those who stay in Him show that their faith is real. Salvation is proven not by perfection, but by remaining in Christ. 7. You Obey God From the Heart Jesus said obedience is evidence of love. • John 14:15 (NKJV) “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” Obedience does not save you but obedience shows you are saved. If your heart wants to obey Jesus, even in weakness, that is a sign of salvation. 8. You Hate Sin and Want to Be Holy A saved person cannot enjoy sin like before. You may fall, but you cannot live comfortably in sin. • 1 John 3:9 (NKJV) “Whoever has been born of God does not practice sin.” This means a lifestyle of sin is broken. Sin now bothers you. You want holiness. That desire is proof of salvation. 9. You Love Other Believers One of the strongest biblical signs: • 1 John 3:14 (NKJV) “We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren.” A saved heart loves: • God • His people • His Word • His ways Final Summary: How Do You Know You Are Saved?
